Barake Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2, 2026
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of the Barake app, published by Orizon42. By creating an account, you agree to them.
2. Who may use Barake
The primary account must be created by an adult, who takes responsibility for their family's use of the app.
A child may only join a family using a code provided by the parent. By creating a child account or inviting a child, the parent confirms they are that child's parent or legal guardian and consents to the processing of the child's data as described in the Privacy Policy.
3. How the service works
Barake lets you create chores, assign them, approve them, and convert points into rewards. Points, rewards, and their values are set entirely by the parent.
Points have no monetary value. They cannot be exchanged for money, transferred outside the family, or refunded. They are internal units of account within your household. Actually delivering a reward is entirely up to the family: Barake neither guarantees nor mediates it.
4. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity carried out from your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate anyone.
5. Content
You keep ownership of the content you add — chore names, photos, reward names. You grant us only the right to host it and display it to members of your family, solely to operate the service.
You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, violent, hateful, or that harms a person's dignity. We may remove clearly unlawful content and suspend the account involved.
6. Premium subscription
The free plan covers one family, up to the member limit shown in the app. Premium removes those limits.
- Payments are processed by the App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. We never receive or store your payment details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancellation happens in your Apple or Google account settings, not in Barake — we have no control over those subscriptions.
- Refund requests are governed by Apple's or Google's policies.
- If pricing changes, you will be notified before renewal.
7. Availability
We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Interruptions may occur for maintenance, updates, or because of a technical provider.
8. Disclaimers and liability
Barake is a family organization tool. We are not responsible for arrangements made within your family, for whether commitments between its members are honored, or for the actual delivery of rewards.
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is." Our liability will not exceed the amounts you paid us in the previous twelve months. Nothing here limits liability for gross negligence, fraud, or personal injury where the law forbids such limitation.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time under Profile. Deletion is permanent and erases the family's data as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate an account for a serious breach of these terms, after notifying you where possible.
10. Intellectual property
The app, its brand, interface, and code remain the property of Orizon42. Nothing here transfers any right in them to you.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. For material changes, you will be notified in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service afterward constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. This choice does not deprive you of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you habitually reside.
We will first try to resolve any dispute amicably: write to the address below. If no agreement is reached, the dispute may be brought before the competent courts, including, if you are a consumer, the courts of your place of residence.
13. Contact
Reach us through the contact page on our website, or by post at Orizon42, 200 rue de la Croix Nivert, 75015 Paris, France.
